Brief Overview
On this page we will be going over the basics of videography, with a brief look camera, lighting, sound, and post-production. On the details page we will have a more focuses and detailed look into the videography elements listed above. On the Links page I will include links to additional resources about each subject.
Camera
The camera is the actual devise that is used to record the visual aspects of videos and in some cases the audio too. As you can imagine it would be particularly hard to shoot a video without a camera. There are multiple parts to a camera that contribute to how a video looks, these being the censor, the lens, the shutter, the apature, and the actual settings of the camera. On the deatils page we will look more in depth about those parts and how they contribute to the making of videos.
Lighting
Proper lighting is an extremely important part of videoagraphy as without proper lighting it may make it difficult or flat out impossible to see or make out whats going on in a video. There are several different kinds of lights and lighting set-ups that can be used in order to get a specific look and we will dive into those various options in the details page.
Audio
Sound is also an important aspect videography because audio can make or brake a video. Think about how lack luster a movie would be without its sound track or how awful it would be to watch the news if the anchor's mic kept breaking up or was muddled static. Like lighting, there are several different types of mics and mic placements that can be affectively used to create a fantastic vidoe that will be discussed on the details page.
Post-Production
Post-production is process of compiling the video and audio of a video shoot to create a final video, that will most likely be played at an event or uploaded to somewhere on the internet. Post-production often entails color correction, video editing, and audio editing in order to achieve the best video possible. As you guessed, I'll explain what each of those things entail and how to do it.
